My name is Lee Durley and I have been a professional working musician almost all of my life. I have been honored to have performed the Las Vegas circuit, at jazz and blues festivals internationally and many local venues in the Monterey California area.
For several years, a fellow veteran musician, Ray Paul and I have had the privilege of presenting the "BROTHERLY LOVE" shows at various assisted living facilities, some with memory care units that specialize in caring for patients with different levels of Alzheimer`s and Dementia.
Our special audiences react very positively to the music in our shows. They often sing or mouth the words or make whatever movement they can in time to the music. There are smiles on their faces. These reactions have inspired Alzheimer’s Music Therapy, Volume I.
In sharing a demo of the DVD with local sssisted living facilities, it received rave reviews from Activities Directors and patients as well. Some, who were seemingly out of touch and distant, became more involved and animated with singing along , hand and foot activity and general mood changes for the better.
After very specific refining, I am happy to share this unique therapeutic aide for those it just may help.
Be informed and know that there is scientific research proving there can be pleasure and quality of life despite all the confusion and controversy that could challenge any one of us in every walk of life! What is there to lose? No one really knows. What might be gained?
This DVD has the potential to create priceless family memories, and to enhance the quality of life for someone suffering from dementia.
